For those of you who didn't know, it turns out that the Superior Livestock Breeding Center (BPTU) is 104 years old, or over a century old. And its management was under the Dutch colonial government.
The species that were first bred were horses, then in 1935 the zebu cattle were imported from Bengal, India. The goal is to breed.
From 1945 to 1949, in the early phase of independence, activities at this site ceased because the Dutch colonialists had been driven from Indonesia.
Then in 1950 by Dr. Moh. Hatta, this place is reopening. And between 1951 and 1953 this place became a state animal holding station called Main Padang Mengatas Livestock Park.
In 1955 this place made history as the largest cattle breeding station in Southeast Asia. Isn't that amazing? The animal species bred at the time were cows, goats, chickens and horses.
The 1973-1974 phase was carried out by the federal government at the main location of this cattle park. From 1974 to 1978 there was a reconstruction cooperation between the Indonesian and German governments. Because this area was damaged by the PRRI break. In 1978 the cooperation between the two countries ended.
And in 2002 that location changed its name to Upper Padang Beef Cattle Breeding Center (BPTU).
Now this place is not only a center for feed and superior livestock breeding, but also a tourist attraction that fascinates tourists.
