The King of the Netherlands admires the Indonesian nature



During their state visit, the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima Zorreguieta Cerruti took time to visit different regions and tourist objects in Indonesia.


One of the most visited tourist attractions is Lake Toba. This natural tourist spot in North Sumatra was visited on Thursday (December 3rd, 2020).

As Antara reported, the state group immediately traveled to Bukit Singgolong, Tampahan, Toba Regency, North Sumatra after landing at Silangit Airport.


King Willem and Ratu Maxima were accompanied by a number of Indonesian government officials, including the Indonesian Minister for Tourism and Creative Industries Wishnutama Kusubandio.

The Minister of Tourism said that the senior officials of the Kingdom of the Netherlands really enjoy the nature and culture in Indonesia. "They are amazed and enjoy the existing culture and natural beauty of Indonesia. At Lake Toba we even had time to drive to Samosir," said the Menpar.


At Lake Toba itself, King Willem and Queen Maxima not only enjoy the landscape, but also receive an explanation about the origin and history of the largest volcanic lake in the world.

In such fashionable clothes the two had a photo session as the backdrop of Lake Toba. During the visit, King Willem was seen in a gold suit while Queen Maxima wore a peach-colored dress with a floral motif.


After taking photos, the two continued to visit Siambat Dalan Hamlet, Tampahan District. This is where the two of them experienced the traditional Batak house, which has been standing for more than 300 years.


Their visit was also treated with a gate-gate dance by the local community and pinned with a Ulos cloth.

During their visit to North Sumatra, Raja Wilem and Ratu Maxima visited the DEL Institute of Technology before they finally left for Samosir Island via Balige Port.


On the island of Samosir itself, the two visited the eco-village of Samosir and stopped at the Inna Parapat Hotel before returning to the Netherlands via Kualanamu International Airport.


In addition to visiting Lake Toba and some interesting places in Batak Land, King Willem and Ratu Maxima also took the time to visit the Prambanan Temple during their visit some time ago.


This visit is expected to boost tourism amid a sluggish world tourism because of the corona virus.

In Jakarta, King Willem and Ratu Maxima not only attended state assemblies with the President and his staff, but also the funeral of Evereld Menteng Pulo. The place just mentioned is a grave for Dutch soldiers.


This time the King of the Netherlands is visiting Indonesia as part of a state visit to improve bilateral cooperation in the economic sector and increase human resources.


During the visit, King Willem and Queen Maxima brought their 4 ministers and 200 business delegations with them. (y)
